Meet the Kittens 🐾

If you have been in class recently, you may have met the kittens! We have always been cat people and haven't had a cat for about five years now. This past fall we adopted Spooky Little Girl (two years old) from our local animal shelter. Her shelter name was Valkyrie. She is a sweet, shy girl who stayed downstairs most of the time because she didn't like the dogs. She absolutely stole our hearts. She loves playing with strings and her favorite opossum toy.

All is well, until Valentine's Day when I saw another little girl on Facebook who was looking for a home. Her shelter name was Coco. She is all black with copper colored eyes and was only seven months old. I didn't have to persuade my husband too much just to go meet her. When we arrived at the shelter, they told us she came in with her brother, Toulouse. Their mother was pregnant and dropped off at a farm. We ended up bringing both of them home and named them Raven and Poe.
These two characters are very outgoing. They love being held and rub up against the dogs with no fear. They spend their days racing through the house, climbing on cat trees and sitting in the sun room watching the birds.

Several weeks later and Spooky Little Girl has made an amazing transformation. She loves playing with the kittens and has come out of her shell. She now spends most of her time in the living room and even greets people who come to visit. She has no more fear of the dogs and will walk right up to them.

These two kittens have made a world of difference in this little girl's life. She will always be Spooky to us, but never again afraid of her own shadow. Shelter animals are so special. You never know what they have been through, only the difference you can make in their future.
